NPL Cricket 2025: Kathmandu Gorkhas trounce Chitwan Rhinos

Kathmandu, Nov 28: Kathmandu Gorkhas have come out victorious in today’s first match of the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) underway in the federal capital.

Kathmandu defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 53 runs. Chasing a target of 143 runs for victory, Chitwan was all out for 89 runs in 17.2 overs.

Dev Khanal and Ravi Bopara both scored 21 each, and Sohel Tanvir made 18 runs while other players could not add double-digit runs for Chitwan.

Rashid Khan took three wickets, while captain Karan KC, Sahab Alam and Milind Kumar took two wickets each for Kathmandu.

Before this, in the match held at Tribhuvan International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, having lost the toss and batted first, was all out for 142 runs in 19.4 overs. John Simpson scored the highest with 60, and Milind Kumar contributed 38 runs for Kathmandu.

Sohail Tanvir took four wickets, Kamal Singh Airee took two, and Ranjit Kumar took two wickets for Chitwan.
