Kathmandu. Due to the partial influence of westerly winds, the weather is expected to undergo a gradual change over the next few days. According to the weather forecast, starting Thursday, Kartik 12, there is a possibility of moderate heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning—as well as snowfall across most parts of the country. While the weather is clear in the Himalayan and hilly regions, some areas in the Terai, valleys, and gorges are experiencing fog and mist this morning.
Although the weather is expected to remain generally clear in most places on Kartik 9 and 10, cloud cover is likely to increase from Kartik 11, with a possibility of light rain and snowfall in some areas.
On Kartik 12, moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, as well as snowfall, is forecast for many places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and for some locations in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. During this period, heavy rain or snowfall may occur in some mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini Province.
